105 finalistes dans 21 catégories, de partout au Canada, seront à l’honneur lors des célébrations du 21e anniversaire des PMFC

Le 28 octobre 2025 – Les Prix de musique folk canadienne (PMFC) sont heureux d’annoncer aujourd’hui les artistes en nomination pour la 21e édition de cette célébration de la talentueuse et vibrante communauté folk canadienne. Les noms des récipiendaires seront dévoilés lors des prochaines festivités des PMFC qui se tiendront à Calgary du 9 au 12 avril 2026.

En tête des nominations, nous retrouvons l’auteur-compositeur-interprète torontois AHI et le duo néo-écossais Cassie and Maggie avec cinq nominations chacun. L’album de AHI, The Light Behind the Sun, est finaliste dans les catégories album contemporain, chanteur contemporain, le prix Oliver-Schroer innovation musicale, auteur-compositeur anglophone et monoplage. De son côté, l’album de Cassie et Maggie, Goal and Coal, est finaliste dans les catégories album traditionnel, chanteur/chanteuse traditionnel.le, groupe vocal, groupe de l’année et le prix Oliver-Schroer innovation musicale.
Les autres artistes qui récoltent plusieurs nominations cette année sont Boreal, Claire Morrison, Jessica Pearson & East Wind, et le groupe The Fretless (avec Madeleine Roger comme artiste invitée) avec trois nominations chacun. De leur côté, les artistes suivants sont tous cités à deux reprises : Amir Amiri Ensemble, Aysanabee, Irish Millie, Kazdoura, Lennie Gallant, Matthew Byrne, Mia Kelly, Oktoecho, PIQSIQ, Terra Spencer, The Barrel Boys et Wyatt C. Louis.
